This is John Kelly's first season with the Texas Tornado. Kelly started playing hockey at the age of four and credits his father and the Boston JR Blackhawks as the most influential people in his hockey development. Kelly says going to the Bantam Major was his most memorable hockey moment. His favorite team is the Philadelphia Flyers and his hockey idol is Jeremy Roenick.

Besides playing hockey, Kelly enjoys hanging out with his friends and listening to music. His favorite kind of music is rock and his favorite artist is Blink-182. Kelly's favorite foods are sausage, peppers, and pasta, but you'll find him in the arena eating nachos. Kelly's goal is to play Division I college hockey.
