Rowe named South Division Star of the Week
The North American Hockey League announced on Monday its Divisional Stars of the Week, and for the second week in a row a Tornado player represented the South Division. Louie Rowe was named South Division Star of the Week on Monday after five points against Corpus Christi over the weekend. Rowe is the fourth Tornado player to win the award this season, behind Justin Greenberg (twice), Brandon Hawkins, and Scott Conway.
Rowe earns the award after a two-game series that saw him nearly double his point output for the season. On Friday's game, the 18 year old scored the second goal of the game while assisting on two others in a 7-2 Tornado victory. The following night, he lit the lamp two more times to give him three goals and two assists on the weekend. Recently, Rowe and fellow winger CJ Reuschlein have playing with Jackson Leef as their center, something that has helped both players offensively.
Rowe and the rest of the Tornado will be on the ice at Dr Pepper Arena on Friday and Saturday for games against the Odessa Jackalopes. Get your tickets today by calling 972-335-9800. Don't forget, Friday's game is at 7:30 but the Saturday game is a special noon start time. The doors will open at 11:00 a.m., so get to Dr Pepper Arena early!
