Prince named NAHL First Star of the Week
Earlier on Monday, The North American Hockey League announced its Three Stars of the Week presented by Combat Hockey for the period ending on February 5th. With five goals and three assists in three games last weekend, Tornado captain Jack Prince was named the week's first star.
Texas had three games last week, all coming against the Wichita Falls Wildcats, and Prince figured prominiently in each of them. The 20-year-old recorded a hat trick and an assist in Thursday's game, managing to score with the Tornado shorthanded, on the power-play, and at even strength. The following night, Prince was held pointless through the first two periods. But with the Tornado down 3-2 in the third, the native of England scored both the game-tying and game-winning goals in a 4-3 Tornado victory. Texas lost 4-2 to Wichita Falls on Saturday, though Prince notched assists on both goals.
Prince is currently sits 4th in the NAHL in points with 62 points, while his 31 goals put him just one back of the league leader, Amarillo's Brooks Behling. Texas and Amarillo will faceoff at Dr Pepper Arena twice this weekend, with 7:30 faceoffs scheduled for both Friday and Saturday.
