Leef returns to Frisco
Bitten by the injury bug this season, the Texas Tornado are getting back a key cog in last year’s offensive machine. Jackson Leef has been reacquired from the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League.
“We’re certainly glad to have him back,” Texas Tornado head coach and general manager Tony Curtale said. “He had a good rookie year last year, and it looks like he’s figured out that this is the best place for him. We’re looking forward to seeing him contribute here this season and down the road in Division I hockey.”
Leef was a big contributor on last year’s Tornado team, scoring 22 goals and 37 assists in 57 games with Texas. His 59 points were just one behind current Tornado captain Jack Prince, who led the team in points last season. This season, he had tallied 4 goals and 12 assists with the Musketeers before coming back to Frisco.
