Joe Mottiqua traded to Aberdeen
The Texas Tornado have traded forward Joe Mottiqua to the Aberdeen Wings in exchange for a future tender. In 14 games this season, Mottiqua totaled 2 goals and 3 assists. He also amassed 8 points and 105 PIMs in 40 games with the Tornado last season.
“We appreciate everything Joe’s done for us in his time here,” head coach and General Manager Tony Curtale said. “We wanted to get him some more playing time as he gets older and we couldn’t do it with the outstanding depth we have here. So we moved him to a team where he could get some more ice time.”
The Tornado will be back on the ice at Dr Pepper Arena on Friday, when the team hosts the New Mexico Mustangs in the first of two games this weekend. Both Friday’s and Saturday’s games are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. starts.
