TORNADO SELL FRANCHISE AND RELOCATE TO NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX

July 27/13

The Texas Tornado formally announce the sale and relocation of the NAHL franchise to North Richland Hills, TX, effective immediately. The franchise will be renamed the Lone Star Brahmas. Tornado ownership would to thank the fans, volunteers, corporate partners, and the community for all their support over the recent years. Ultimately, the decision to sell is a result of financial losses the team has endured over the course of past three years. Over the past 6 months, the Tornado ownership explored all options to keep the team in the Dallas/Ft. Worth market and at the end of that process, the only group to step forward that made sense was the ownership group of the NYTEX arena.
The franchise now returns to the birthplace of the Tornado in North Richland Hills, TX, where the team played 4 seasons prior to relocating to Frisco in 2003.

We also wish to thank all the players for their contributions and efforts in the community and on the ice for the Tornado.

Those who have purchased season ticket packages will receive a full refund check sent to their home address in the coming weeks.

If you have any inquiries, please email the Tornado at claurie@tornadohockey.com.
